The United Kingdom is introducing its own Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism from 1 January 2027. We assess whether your imports fall within scope, build your supplier emissions data process and model what it will cost.

From the first scope assessment to ongoing regulatory monitoring. Outsource the whole thing, or only the part you cannot cover yourself.
We assess whether your imported products are likely to fall within UK CBAM scope and quantify the potential business impact: commodity code and product mapping, import flow review, supplier and country exposure analysis and preliminary cost modelling.
We help you build a robust process for collecting and validating supplier emissions data: request frameworks, embedded emissions methodologies, data quality controls, evidence standards and governance processes.
Import portfolio modelling, margin sensitivity analysis, supplier comparison models, pass-through pricing scenarios and strategic sourcing options.
Supplier clauses and information obligations, data-sharing requirements, cost allocation approaches, procurement strategy support and cross-border supply chain planning.
Including the semi-finished products that make up much of the import volume in this sector.

Both sectors are expected to be covered.
Also expected to be included when the regime starts.
Hulsman & Partners is your partner for UK CBAM.
Three steps, with clear agreements. You only have to take the first.
Which goods you import, from which countries and roughly how much per year. A purchase list or customs overview is enough to start.
Commodity code and product mapping, import flow review, supplier and country exposure analysis, preliminary cost modelling and risk prioritisation.
Supplier data processes, cost scenarios, contract clauses and, if you want it, ongoing regulatory monitoring until the regime goes live.
The regime is designed to place a carbon price on certain imported goods, helping to align imported products with the carbon costs faced by UK producers under domestic climate policies. Call us and we will tell you straight away whether your goods are likely to be covered.

It will apply to selected imported goods in carbon-intensive sectors.
Based on current UK government policy announcements, the sectors expected to be included are iron and steel, aluminium, fertilisers, hydrogen, ceramics, glass and cement.
Whether your specific products fall within scope depends on their commodity codes, which is the first thing we map.
No. UK CBAM is a separate regime with its own timetable, starting on 1 January 2027.
If you import into both the EU and the UK, you will be dealing with two sets of obligations. We advise on the EU regime as well.
That is the most common starting point. We help you build a robust process for collecting and validating supplier emissions data, including request frameworks, embedded emissions methodologies and data quality controls.
We also help you reflect those obligations in your commercial relationships, through supplier clauses, information obligations and data-sharing requirements.
That is two questions: what the regime will cost you, and what our support costs. For the first we build import portfolio models, margin sensitivity analyses and pass-through pricing scenarios, so you know the impact before it lands.
For the second: send us your commodity codes or a purchase list and you will hear within hours what our support costs and when we can start. There is no obligation.
UK CBAM is still developing, which is exactly why we keep clients informed and prepared with regulatory updates, implementation roadmap reviews and board briefings.
Waiting until the rules are final leaves no time to get supplier data in order, and that is the part that takes longest.
Not outsourcing everything? We deliver these parts separately too.
Send us your commodity codes or a purchase list and tell us what you need. You will hear within hours what it costs and when we can start.
